Special Case
Well yesterday’s doctor appointment went well, but my incision healing is much slower that typical…but they are not concerned and continue to tell us everything looks great. To me, that means it delays the next steps of my breast reconstruction and other procedures … steps to just get this all behind me. God, give me strength and patience and the continued realization that life is just not my own for a while. But, we are blessed so far that all reports continue to come back looking good.
BUT, the doctor did let me know I made the ”presentation list”. Sue a special case?
It should always feel good to be called special, but in this instance it was tied to her presenting my cancer case to her peers and group of oncologists. “A few twists we typically don’t see” was how she so delicately described what made my cancer special.
You can guess I would just have to question for more detail. She let me know that the aggressiveness of my cancer and it’s invasive nature was at a level that it’s just strange it had not run more rampant through my body. The cancer was in two quadrants of my breast … that’s half of it to be clear, just nuts! And it stayed there without traveling out to other parts? I think that’s what stumps them…my guess.
I ask for your continued prayers as we prepare to meet with the oncologist that will determine and discuss my treatment options and possible all over body scans for signs of cancer in other sites…My hopes are that clear lymph nodes and clean margins are where the cancer story ends. Pray with me as your continued thoughts and spirits are so keeping us going!
