    Hate is a strong word

Hate is a strong word and I don’t focus on things I hate in life, I deal with things, try to make good of it and move on.

But I have to share with you all just how much I hate hiccups right now.

They seem to come out of nowhere, seem to serve no purpose at all. Instead they make me feel like all things collapse from the inside, that each muscle touched gets pinged like a stretched rubber band and a strange combination or an explosion and implosion at the same time. All this in an area of my body that is just a little tender …

Then you sit and hope the last hiccup was the end…oh, these little things that never mattered on any other day

Hiccups just go away, pretty please!

    Details Coming In

This week we meet with my medical team on Thursday and I’ll be able to share more details on not only the nature of my cancer…but also what sort of therapy line up will be needed.

Might it be possible they removed it all and I’m done? Heck, no harm in just shooting for the best!!! Stay tuned….

Pillows – The More the Merrier!

I had received two under arm pillows in my Necessities bag and valuable info on just how important all sorts of pillows would be. Some would be for support, others to help with balance and others to elevate parts of the body to help with circulation.

I do feel like I’ve been laying on a cloud with my full variety on hand …. And thank Bruce for getting me top notch king sized pillows, a foam wedge that has been a great help to stay in place as a back sleeper … And a new “husband” — I think most of us had the in college — the thing behind your back with the built in arm rests…I’ve got it all! Even a pile of fresh pillow cased pillows for those visitors that crawl into bed with me too :)

For anyone out there sleeping on a crappy pillow, treat yourself and go test drive some new ones!

    It’s Not That Bad, Really

To follow advice given to me by a wise man, this post is listening to his advice to turn the table and share other info :)

Up and downs are to be expected and I’ll put those down day posts to one side and share details tied to positive experiences I’ve had and am having in general.

When I was told recovery would be 4 weeks, I had to keep questioning…so, how bad is the “bad part” . To me the bad part was the inability to move, the time I’d at the hands of others to do anything I’d need and in general..”Just on my back.”

My experience…the good news that I pleased by:
    - I was able to walk right after surgery — helpful for bathroom routine normalcy
    - My arms were completely functional allowing me to reach for things nearby –like my blackberry :)
    - My appetite was healthy which I so believe helped me skip the expected nausea or vomiting

Each person’s experience is different and for those of you going in for your procedure, you too can be pleasantly surprised by no getting all the post ill effects!

    Sharing Power of Prayer

On days when I’m down, like today, I typically find it easier to bring myself back up by helping others. So, each Sunday, I’m going to “will good things” to happen —where I keep a special person in mind…along with the usual blessed clan we love!

So on this Sunday, I want to help a women that is just so close to me and tends to know me better than anyone else at times…. and with my limited mobility and strength, I know I can pray to thanks her…but also thought I could share the power from those that are praying for me and sending me strong vibes of support. So, if OK by you, I’m going to channel some of that power and strength to help this angel on earth that has been so good to me.

Good to me she’s always been…through good and bad times, always there with just what you need…knows when a hug is needed, or when alone time best —when to join in a shed tear and when to say “snap out of it”.

She wants for nothing and braves life as the strongest soldier, with a smile that puts mine to shame!

She’s someone so special that could use a few little blessings….so, I pray she gets even just a fraction of what she gives to others. I pray for you and know your graces are only a matter of time :)
