    To my mom and dad

    Dear Mom and Daddy,

Before I sign off for the night, I wanted to post a special note to you hoping you have gotten the courage to read what I’ve posted.   I know this has so been hard on you and it just awfully painful to see your baby girl get such a diagnosis.  But, please read through to see all the details and feel my strength from all the support and prayers coming in from all ends of the earth and above.

Read as much as you can, in time.  There is no rush.

You’ll see just how strong you’ve raised me and how in turn, I can take what life hands me.  You’ve both been fighters, who never took no for an answer and achieved so many successes in life.  I owe my strong will and unyielding determination to you and Daddy for sure.  The reality is, I’m OK and I’ll not only be fine, but I’ll come out of this better than ever.

How many times I have heard the family say “Sue walks into shit and walks out smelling like roses” ?–this will be no different.  And as I said to you tonight, the phrase we learned from you ”pshrashe ne dashe”  .. I’m sure spelled terribly wrong, but you know it! (For any non Slovaks out there, it means “Shit yourself and still never give up!”)

Love you Mom and Dad…and I’ll see you smiling again soon!!

    Thank you all

What a day, busy all around…as I start to wind down and log off the computer to do things like …pack my hospital bag, we must thank everyone for the full shower of visits to the site, 1000 visitors within 12 hours is just leaving me speechless.  The comments left are just so heart felt and we can’t thank you.  We love that everyone is out there for us.

Some things that will be included here are pages for the medical detail tied to my diagnosis as well as more detail from an educational purpose mission of the site as well…”the meat” as a dear client of ours calls it.

For now, random posts, probably riddled with typos, will continue.

Enjoy, comment, and wish us well…going offline now to tuck the girls into bed and enjoy the night with Bruce. Back tomorrow!

    Nail Color

Ok, medical tip here – one that I sort of did not listen to today.

Best practice is to go into the hospital with clear or no nail polish.  Several reasons are tied to the use of pulse monitors attached to your fingers and down to an “at a glance” gauge of body oxygen by the color of one’s nail beds.

Well…..mine happen to be a bright shiny red, like any other day…as we’ve already had a caller ask “And just what color are the nails, you left that off the site!”  — and I thought people wouldn’t be into that amount of detail, but I love it.  If others are wondering, my toes match the nails too.

Stay tuned, I’ll let you know the nail polish consequences I face later — my oh my, this sounds like my Catholic school days!

    My new wardrobe

I just went through a most wonderful abundance of “comfy clothes” and wonderfully in the full array of pinks … a very thoughtful gift from my sister and her family.

How could they possibly know what’s in my books as perfect for the upcoming lounging?!  Each one perfect.  Pants with draw strings, as elastic bands are not ideal.  An array of flannel to cottons to just what I can call the softest blends…each with wide arm openings, all sized right …a full size larger than I need, which is all the more comforting.

And best of all? I’ve got all new outfits for my work from the home office when I’m past this!

    Back from the Spa

Today could have almost not been more perfect.  Let’s put it this way,  all I need is a fancy up-do and I’m ready to get married!

Anyone that’s seen me in the last 15 years know I thrive on my manicured nails…and now I have that attention to detail head to toe.  The original plan of nails, toes, facial and massage had a few add ons, including reflexology and hot stones..what a treat and could soon become an addiction for sure.

Most impactful were the heavenly hands and hearts that cared for me today.  Something graced down on me in each treatment and the experience touched my heart and soul.  Thank you ladies!

I know that things happen for a reason and the women I met today, showed me the grace of even more blessings.  I look forward to seeing them soon again for sure. Bruce, get your wallet ready :)
